I just purchased a new SAM E70 Xplained board. When I use the Start or ASF example programs, it uses ATSAME70Q21B device when the device on the board is a ATSAME70Q21.

Is there a way to change the device in Start or ASF or directly in the board files? If I change the device after it generates the code it obviously does not work. I get over 3000 errors!

It would be nice to use the ASF examples for the board I bought.

It's pretty annoying how Microchip don't provide start examples also for the older E70 Xplained board (still sold apparently and not exactly cheap).

I have managed to change device a few times with start projects (like e54 -> d51) and given how similar e70 and e70b are I think it can work for you.

* Make a new project in start for your device, export this and extract the files to some temp dir.

* Open the example you want in start and export. Import it in Atmel Studio.

* Change the device in Atmel Studio project properties.

* Open utils/include/parts.h and change the include there (from "hri_e70b.h" to "hri_e70.h" for you).

* Copy all files from hri in the project extracted in the temp dir to the example project hri directory.

Annoying is an understatement.
