Hi,

I reconfigured my Atmel START project within Atmel Studio 7.0 a number of times (via the button in the Solution Explorer); now Atmel START hangs on "Initialize project..". This happened to me with a previous project as well.

Is there some way to resolve this, besides setting my whole project up again from scratch?

Thanks,

Simon

Couple of suggestions based on my experience

-> Press ALT+SHIFT+A to disable auto saving while reconfiguration

-> Try an older version of Atmel Studio , like Atmel v7.0.1645

Some additional information, I was able to open the file {project dir}/.atmelstart/atmel_start-config.atstart in https://start.atmel.com/ and it opened without problems. From there, you can export the project as an .atzip file, which could be imported in Atmel Studio 7.0 using menu Project – Update Atmel Start …

So using the web based Start configurator could be a workaround.

I just ran into a similar but slightly different problem.  The project I'm working on has spent the last six plus months getting through FDA 510(k) clearance, so no code changes.  Now that it's passed the FDA, we are back to adding features to the base product as a new version 2.0 of the product.  So into START the code goes for configuration changes.  And it's stuck on "Initialize project..."

Having been burned in the past by imports to Atmel START, I always reconfigure via the website https://start.atmel.com.  No luck this time.  But reconfiguring from within the Atmel IDE worked fine.  Puzzling.  I was able to get the website to load by using Microsoft Edge (which I despise) instead of Google Chrome.  For some reason Chrome will not get past "Initialize project...".

So if you're reading this and have problems importing into Atmel START, use the website like Brousant says, and try different browsers.
