Hello Team,

I got new ATMEL ICE Debugger, I made the connection through the PDI and when I make the connection PCB, I can green LED ON, in the Debugger and also in Atmel studio, it recognizes shows Atmel ICE-J42700006440 debugger. But when I try to flash the code to Atmel chip, I get the following error "Failed to launch the program. Error : PDI enable failed. Debugger command Activate physical failed, as shown in the screenshot below.
When I check the voltage across Vcc (pin 2 ) and GND (pin 6) pin of Debugger, I get around 0.78V.

Could someone tell if something needs to be done to fix it on Atmel studio, or Debugger is broken?

Thanks and best regards,
Chetan

Suggest you check the pinout/wiring - pin 2 is GND, pin 4 is Vcc on the AVR header.  Pin 3 is UPDI.

Check that the ribbon connector is plugged in to the target correctly (e.g. not rotated 180 degrees). Also, if the target is your own layout, check that you have not accidentally inverted the connector; some pinouts show the connector as seen on the top  side of the board, and some pinouts show it as seen from the back side of the board.

Hello Jim,

Thanks for the message, Debugger works now.

Atmel debugger, pinout was inverted.
