Hello, i recently got my hands on an STK600 and i am trying to program an atmega328p-au.

I am making a tutorial out of this, which is uploaded to this gitlab link and honestly, it will be the most detailed tutorial, since i have not found any good ones yet.

Now, i am stuck to the point where i program the mcu. I dont seem to find any reference on how to use the atmel studio to do it.

Does anyone have a good tutorial for that?

I noticed a similar topic on this avrfreak_post but the links are not accessible anymore.

Also, i dont see the option for JTAG, as i have seen in some tutorials.

And, when i mean a good tutorial, i want every information i could get.

-What is the connection needed to program the board?
-What is the XTAL setting needed to program the board?
-What are the fuse settings needed to program the board?
-What steps do I need to take from the atmel studio to program the board?

Thank you.

This topic has a solution.

This device does not have a JTAG interface - it has ISP and HVPP as shown.

Do you have the proper Routing Card and Socket Card for the part you are programming, or are you programming an in circuit device?

Do a google search of the site for a programming tutorial....theres enough of them

The 328 uses debugWire not JTAG for debugging. You can "program" over dW but it's basically just the case that when you "Start debug" it programs the latest build into the chip.

Hello.

I never managed to program the mcu using the stk600. I used atmel ice to program the chip in the end, and it worked well.

I made a gitlab repository with whatever i could write down and figure out, it is a ongoing tutorial:  https://gitlab.com/Basilisvirus/stk600_atmega328p_au_complete

I have many questions yet that cannot find answers online, i guess i will open new threads very soon.
