UART question....
is it possible to echo back whatever received data to pin other than TXD pin ??

I'm trying to build a code to read sms from a cellphone and then display it in a hyperterminal window.

Since I need to use TXD pin to send AT-command to the cellphone and RXD pin to receive the cellphone responses, I'm pretty much have no clue how to display whatever result that my ATTiny2313 chip is receiving....

Been googling the web but most cellphone-microcontroller example out there were built with assembly language, I kinda want to use C since I'm more familiar with C language.

Any help will be greatly appreciated :D

Maybe move up to an AVR with more than one UART? The alternative is to use a "soft UART" where the functionality is done in software simply by wiggling any IO pin at the right rate of timing.

I'm pretty sure that the Pascal Stang Procyon "avrlib" contains an implementation of soft UART

ahh, thanks for the info, I'll look up into that "soft UART" thing before deciding to move up to an AVR with more UART pin.

thanks 4 help clawson ;)
