I'm hoping someone can help out with this. I was running Studio 7 on my previous work computer which had Windows 7 and everything worked fine. Last week that computer had a motherboard failure and the machine was replaced.
I am now on Windows 10 Enterprise, and after I install AS7 via as-installer-7.0.1931-full.exe, IE 11 does not function properly.
When I go to start IE11, a window flashes open and then it closes almost immediately. None of the "normal" things you read about for correcting this IE 11 issue work(deleting cache, disabling extensions, etc). I have tried installing without samples and extensions, and with samples and extensions. If the install goes to full term, the problem above happens.
The only way I can get back to a functioning IE11 is to do a system restore to a moment prior to the installation of AS7. I tried simply uninstalling everything, but that did not work. I was left with an installed program instance of "Visual C Plus Plus" that did not give me an option to remove it. I dont know if that lingering "visual C Plus Plus" installation that did not have an uninstall/modify option was the issue, or something else the installation upset though either.
I also dont see any errors in the system logs.
I can't ask my peers, as I don't have any:) I work in a mainly mechanical engineering firm and I have a mechanical background, but my side knowledge of these devices has led me to use them for solutions. Therefore our IT organization is similarly useless.
I need to figure something out, as there are some legacy corporate intranet sites that ONLY work in IE with compatibility mode, and I need to be able to use those for my daily core functions.
Thanks for any help if you seen this before and managed to work through it.
