I have my projects which were build on Atmel Studio 6.2 but when i open those files in Atmel Studio 7 it asks for upgrade (Recommended). Doing so my program seems to exhibits some unusual behaviours and malfunctions. Does anyone has such experience ?

What should i do ? Please suggest. Should i go back to Atmel Studio 6.2 ?? Why such things are happening.

What "things"? Be specific. We can't say much given the superficial information you've given.

One general observation: If the upgrade to AS7 meant it installed a newer version of the compiler it might be that bugs/discrepancies in your code that was not exposed before are so now. E.g. harder optimization might expose a lacking 'volatile' on an ISR/main shared variable.

Logic Execution was stopped and Some Volatile non initialized Variable show strange values. I have no observed such things before in AS6.2, you might be right Regarding new optimization with compiler...

is it possible to use old AVR GCC Compiler with new AS7 ?

Show an example of that. Are you talking about volatile global or volatile automatic?

When I said "be specific" I meant something like:

- Show code

- State expected behavior

- State observed behavior in AS6

- State observed behavior in AS7

Yes. You can set up additional toochain (that exist on your system) in Atmel Studio:

Tools menu, Options..

In the dialog, select Toolchain

At the right, press Add flavour

Set a name, and browse to the tool chains "bin" folder

You now have a new toolchain flavour that you can select to use in a specific project (project Options, and then Advanced. Select flavour in drop-down.

I've edited your post. Make another one like that and your account here won't last much beyond your one post.
