I got a notification of pack update at Atmel Studio and I installed it.
Then, Atmel Studio could not load the project, and recovered by uninstalling pack.
Also, I did not remember seeing the notification, but 2.0.2 also arrived. This is also not installed.

What is your situation?
Can I use it properly even after installing it?

This topic has a solution.

Thanks for letting us know... Someone pushed a bad update to the server.

I have reverted it now...

this is probably too late now, but get in the habit of creating a system restore point before installing any updates.

google how to create a restore point if you need to.

Hope you find a solution.

It would be ok if you did not uninstall 1.3.300. Uninstalling only the bad update will recover.

I have uninstalled 1.3.300 from my laptop. Microchip does not provide a pack of that version. I will try to copy files from my desktop tomorrow.

Does anyone know where the 1.3.300 atpack is?

Would a system restore point actually have helped? This is an update deep inside one of the Windows apps - unless Windows were to store everything on your hard drive at every checkpoint I think it can only protect "system files" (inc registry) that might get changed.

The problem is serious because this is not valid.

Eh?

Or is your point that when you reach here:

That button throws an EULA dialog but then apparently does nothing more?

The manufacturer seems to be trying to solve the problem now. The bad update has disappeared from the Device pack manager, and it has returned to the list of old updates. However, it can not be downloaded and installed yet.

I should go to bed already tonight.

I can press the button but the file server seems to be stopped.
Can you download the file?

Just hold on :)

I reverted the meta files first, so that no one tries to pull the bad updates. The server is still resetting to its previous state so some download links might be broken...

And no, I don't believe this is covered by System Restore... But restoring is easy enough, just remove the update from the pack manager...

Right now, the download worked. I apologize to you for a fuss over.
I hope the victim is only me.

... I'm just glad I was told... By the logs I have this happened on the 25th, so no one complained (or perhaps worse, noticed) for a day and a half smiley

I would be glad if the solution was triggered by my voice.
