As of today, DesignSpark PCB 6 is a one-step install on CrossOver (commercial Wine)

CrossOver 18 thunks Windows 7; so, should be able to run DesignSpark PCB 6 on Wine 3.

As an aside, since we're talking about pcb programs. I recently tried EasyEda on recommendation from a colleague. I was suspicious at first, but the operation is similar to Altium, so it wasn't a major retrain of my brain. It is also a web app, so it will run in your browser or natively on Windows, Mac and Linux. I use it on Mac.  There are limitations to its free use.

Its integration to JLCPcb and LCSC is convenient - i took up the option to combine both the pcb and parts order into one shipment.

The offer of $2usd for 10 of 10x10cm pcbs is hard to beat. For me the overall cost is about $30AUD by the time I add shipping. I get the boards in 3 to 5 days. I've done a number of different boards over the last couple of months.

The usual disclosure - I'm just a satisfied customer of the abovementioned companies and have not received any compensation for these comments. If they want to add inducements, then I'm all for it!

Hmm. Maybe I'll try that.
