Anybody use this programmer? Since my Atmel-Ice died, I'm looking around.

Why not buy one or two of alank2's programmers?

Not surprising due to the PNW enduring an exceptional weather event (IIRC we're in the tail of El Nino)

Hmm. I never think of marketplace.

That's the old version. There's a newer zeptoprog 2:

I've not used either versions of the device, though.

Torby, I've been given an Atmel-ICE by Atmel every time they thought of some reason to hand out some boxes of free stuff so I think I've got several. Your more than welcome to one if you PM me your address. Don't see much point getting only a programmer when you can have a programmer/debugger.

Alternatively I was going to say that if you want something "tomorrow" your local Microchip supplier will probably be happy to deliver a "Snap":

https://www.microchip.com/develo...

For example Digikey list it:

https://www.digikey.com/products...

at $16.15 and it's a full programmer and debugger.

HOWEVER, before taking the plunge on that one you probably need to read the current thread about it. Seems almost no one can get the thing to work with any variant of Atmel or Microchip software. So it may be "too soon".

But when that works it's going to be the "goto device" for AVR programming/debugging I guess. Even those who were only thinking of spending $2 for a USBAsp on ebay must surely be tempted by the all singing, all dancing programmer/debugger from the "horses mouth" for little more than $15 ?

EDIT: the current "cautionary" thread about Snap: https://www.avrfreaks.net/forum/...

Read the thread and ordered a snap from Microchip. Annoying to have to build a cable, but I'm guessing MC has many different connector designs, or none.

I'll probably 3d print it a box. Or just tie it to a board.
