Hello,

Just got one of the Autoprogrammers and is really useful for my projects. I love the multiple configuration and multiple target support. I think I'm going to get some more of these, I have been using several other portable programmers, but this one has it all.

So, I decided to make a little enclosure for it, so it wont get damaged by handling it.

You can download the STL files and print it for yourself. Note this is for the V4 board.

Thanks

Haha, seen it. I didn't had a dollar spare to buy some tic tacs, so I printed my own version instead.

It was the fastest enclosure design I ever did, usually I design much more complicate enclosures for my projects:

I just tested the Autoprogrammer with an atmel socket firmware update tool, that sits on the pins of the SMT Atmega328p... tried it on an arduino nano board I had laying around. I really like the no button operation, just plug and its done!

Looks great Thanos - nice job showing of the multiple match selection (MMS) feature!  Love the case and am glad to see you got the 2nd one you ordered so quickly!

Updated links on first post to the latest manual/software.  There is a new merge hex feature that makes combining a bootloader+app very easy.

Hi Alan,

How do you merge the bootloader and firmware in the application? I can't figure it out and the manual doesn't seem to mention this.

Right now I use firmware with already combined bootloader that I read back from a test target device...

Thanks

Thanos

Ok, installed the new application and I see a Merge HEX button... any instructions on that? I mean, which should be used for bootloader and which for firmware?

Thanks

Hi Thanos,

Thanks for the note; I'll thought I added something about it in the manual, but I probably just thought I did it!

What I always do is "Load Hex" to load the application, and then "Merge Hex" to load the bootloader.  The different between the two buttons is that Load Hex clears out what was already in there, but Merge Hex just adds to what was in there.  You should see the flash byte count increase as expected when merging.

Let me know if you have trouble!

Alan

p.s. I can see you made your system font larger and it is barely fitting the buttons!  I'll try to look at that too, perhaps a setting about form scaling...

I see. thanks for the clarification! You are the best!

P.s. This is actually on a company computer that I don't have control over such settings. They enlarge the fonts for company specific application I suppose. Yes please, see if there is scaling option for the font, or use non-system font that you can declare its font to fit your app!

Any chance to fix the font issue? Still the labels are too big to fit in the buttons like on the photo I posted before.

Thanks

I looked at and I already have the scale option enabled which should scale it.  Are they doing something wierd with font size in windows maybe?  I think there is an option to increase the font size and this usually makes applications look terrible...  What is your font size set to?  125% perhaps?  I'll try to do some testing on it under different conditions when I have some time.

No, I actually checked and the font size on my Pc looks 100%. Just to mention I have windows 7 ... I don't know if that is an issue though.

Do you have the MS Sans Serif font?  If you don't, it could be a bad case of font substitution...
