ISP on Atmel-ICE does not support debugging

I know it's an old topic. But I'm curious on what condition does Atemle Studio 7 decide to show this "ISP on Atmel-ICE does not support debugging" message. It's about a new PCB with an atmega328p mounted on it. I managed to set de DWEN fuse. But running the debug session I got this message. Nothing is attached to the reset pin. No capacitor, no resistor. Tested by oscilloscoop nothing happens on the RESET/MOSI/MISO pins before the message appears. RESET stays high. I think I remembered that when de DWEN fuse is set the reset pin initially will be low but I'm not sure. Also when pressing the message [OK] button then I see a lot of activity on the reset pin. Hope someone can help me out.

Let me answer myself: set the project tool interface to debugWIRE in stead of ISP...

You shouldnt touch the DWEN fuse. Just select debugWire in you project. If the DWEN is not set, then Atmel Studio will take care of it...
