I started using AVR Studio 4 about a year ago when I was doing extensive simulations on my code. Everything worked great, then I moved on to emulation when the hardware was ready and finished up the project over the following months.

Now I've got a new project that I need to simulate, but sometime between then and now, the simulator has broken. I hit the little "Play" button on the toolbar, the bar goes across the status window to indicate the .elf is being loaded into the simulator, and then WHAM! I get a general application error.

The frustrating thing is that I've installed a lot of software since then. Actually, I've gotten a whole new laptop since then, so I guess technically the simulator has never been run on this machine before. The point is, I have no idea what I did to make the simulator unhappy.

I've even uninstalled AVR Studio 4, reinstalled it, and re-applied the most recent SP to it but I still crash the moment I try to simulate. All other functionality seems fine.

Can anyone suggest something to try, or what could be wrong? Debugging this code is going to be infinitely harder if I can't simulate.

Oh thank you thank you thank you thank you! I had grabbed the latest SP when I first noticed that simulation wasn't working and I didn't notice that there was a whole new version. 4.13 runs without crashing. Yay!
