You may have noticed that today we removed our paid professional account tier. From now on the best, most feature-full, most powerful version of Upverter will be our only version. It will always be free to use, for everyone, from anywhere. Regardless of whether you’re a professional electrical engineer, a maker, a student, a hobbyist or anyone else, you can now design your product, your hardware, your IOT device, your PCB – completely for free using Upverter. Unfettered access for all.
...
... and our experiments with EEConcierge, which provides paid design services on-demand, inside your design tool (think of it as in-app purchases), we have come to the conclusion that indirect monetization is the future.
Yes, cloud based software is a BIG peeve to me as well and for many of the same reasons pointed out already. AutoCad now going to a 'subscription' based(Hostage/extortion IMNOHO) platform has really put me in a bind. I have been using a copy I was given a license to by a former employer, It's from 2005, but it does everything I need and there you go. NOW I may be getting an opportunity to do some CAD work, but I MUST use the latest version of ACAD...$300.00/year, and the software MUST see the ACAD server at least once a month or the software shuts down. Oh, and any files I create in this version cannot be modified by any other version of ACAD.
At least DipTrace is still 'old school'....and they have said that they have no intention of changing that either....yeah, yeah, yeah, I know things can change, but hey I can at least enjoy a little bit if stability.

Installation is involved and has a lot of dependencies. There's a Dockerfile present in config/docker.io/Dockerfile that will get you started. You can check out an image of MeowCAD in the Docker registry as well.
Personally HATE cloud based stuff.

Jim, I had not seen this page. Yes, it looks like the KiCad has been won.
Dose KiCad the “latest version” work on Windows XP?

Are you just reporting this, or have you actually tried it?

Reporting as was aware of Upverter yesterday.

NO CLOUD
Cloud means they own your stuff. Don't go there. Thank you. S.
Not (necessarily) in the legal sense; but they certainly hold it - so what are you going to do when you can't access it?
I have several old, paid-for apps on my PC from companies now long gone.
They still meet my needs and, because they are locally installed, I can just keep on using them.
You can't do that with cloud-based stuff!
What happens when they go bust? or decide to discontinue the service? or change the Ts & Cs to something unacceptable ... ?

Why is that list of 8 known as the top 9?
I use ExpressPCB but I haven't designed a board in a few years.
Look at the signature - I bet it's just a spam post.
Top Tips:
Yeah, I should have looked at the joined date. I thought it was just one of you aliens that count differently than we do here.
All you guys think about spam but here i have shared the info of top 9 tools maybe one haven't post by mistake... :-(

But all you've done is given a list of products that have already been mentioned.
You haven't justified your ranking, or given any information about any of those tools - so you haven't added any value to the thread.

I agree brother
