Today, the debugger isn't showing the I/O registers. It did a couple of days ago. How do I fix it?
I've had mysterious debugger view changes in the past with AS and VS too, but I always managed to fix things up. This one has me stumped.

Isn't it on View or View-Debug or perhaps even Debug-View menu?
No, no, a thousand times no. At least I can't see anything.
I tried debugging on my other computer and got the same result. Both machines are running Win10 and both got the March update within the last 2 days.
Then I booted up a Win10 that is disconnected from the internet. Its last update was in early Feb. and is still running Win10 1703. It's also running an older version of AS 7.
Voila! AS booted up showing I/O and also the CPU. Notice on the right edge near the top, where you can toggle I/O and Solution Explorer. I think the current version of AS 7 could do this the last time I ran it.
though likely not related to your issue :
fyi, changes to Windows 10 1709 are affecting Visual Studio 2015.

I don't have AS on this machine but I do have VS. Does AS have Window -> Reset Window Layout? Perhaps the debugger got moved or docked somewhere on accident. Resetting it should bring it back (one would hope).
It does have "Reset Window Layout", but it doesn't seem to do anything.
Okay, I found it. Cliff was on the right track but took a wrong turn. It's Debug > Windows, which has lots of debug windows on the menu including I/O.
It looks like the problem is solved. Thanks guys.
Just in case it helps you are running in "Standard mode" rather than the "Advanced mode".
One of the first things I tried was Advanced mode and it didn't solve my problem. I think I need "Retarded mode".
I just tried advanced mode again, and I didn't see any difference. Anyway I should be okay now.
One thing that threw me off was all those little icons. By the time I checked them all, I had sore eyes and a headache and I still didn't have I/O. Maybe some day I'll learn those freakin' icons don't do anything for me except drive me nuts.
