Good day,

I found a few open-source music hardware projects that run on the STM32 controllers. The company provides Eagle board files (to have the project pcb printed in china yourself) and firmware C++ / header files to be uploaded once you assemble the unit.

I'm fairly new to the ARM and AVR controllers. Is it possible to use Atmel Studio to load code onto the STM32 controllers via the ST-link programmer?

No

And as this site is funded by Microchip (Atmel) then I doubt they want to provide too much support for competitors so surely Google can find you a website for STM32 which decribes their IDE choices.
