As the whole RPi thing is of British origin, why are they calling today "Pi Day"??
Surely, that only works in the USA?!

I'm not in the mood to double post what I wrote in:

Edit: Tnx to AwNeil and a bit of experimenting I just learned I can right click on my #64 over there and then copy a link to that post from here:
You do realise that you can link direct to your specific post: https://www.avrfreaks.net/commen... ?

Well, yes.... but welcome to global marketing (and there is no 14th month) so the USA bass-ackwards convention wins in this instance.
But there is 22/7 ...
Now, where is my propellor hat?

New Raspberry Pi Improves Processing, Connectivity

Compared to its predecessor, Raspberry Pi 3B+ delivers somewhat better performance in the 2.4GHz band, and far better performance in the 5GHz band.
Previous Raspberry Pi devices have used the LAN951x family of chips, which combine a USB hub and 10/100 Ethernet controller. For Raspberry Pi 3B+, Microchip provided an upgraded version, LAN7515, which supports Gigabit Ethernet. While the USB 2.0 connection to the application processor limits the available bandwidth, the module still sees roughly a threefold increase in throughput compared to Raspberry Pi 3B.
...
The company also highlights that the Raspberry Pi 3B+ does consume substantially more power than its predecessor, so it strongly encourages designers to use a high-quality 2.5A power supply.

Hello?
edit
the site seemed to be having "technical difficulties" - but now seems to have recovered ... ?
Congratulations to the winner of our Facebook competition to win a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+, Andrew Neil - we loved your innovative use of a Raspberry Pi to monitor your central heating!
Drop us an email on facebook@cpc.co.uk with your name and address to receive your prize! Thank you to everyone for entering

Congrats!
Thanks.
I think probably half of my RPi population is from "prizes" or freebies!

Hmm.. and that 2.5A is above what the micro-USB connector is spec'd to be able to cope with ??
I didn't even bother to enter, I have several RPis laying around and it seems I can never get the time to cook any of them...
Raspberry Pis are certainly not known for low power consumption!
Only one 3A micro-B at Mouser :

The USB hub may be what limits.
Would be surprised if a notebook PC's USB hub would supply 2.5A

Will this thing run Netflix nicely and is there an app for it? Yes I can GGL it but I would prefer 1st hand experiences.
If it does then I can set up the TV in the rumpus room with Netflix so that the grandchildren need only thrash that room instead of the lounge.

Netflix system requirements for HTML5 Player and Silverlight
Raspbian may have what's needed.

Android -
Watched a video on YouTube about installing Android on Raspberry Pi 3 B+ but am not certain it has access to Google Play.
Replicant doesn't run on Raspberry Pi.

Netflix can go via a VPN so one's country code shouldn't matter.
Transparency : last time I was a Netflix operator was in approximately '10 on a Sony PS3.
Edit: Kodi
