Has anyone managed to implement EtherNet/IP CIP protocol?

Or have any information they can share about implementing it?

https://duckduckgo.com/html?q=ethernet+cip

Or, a bit more directed:

github has an absolutely astounding amount of source code available.

Gathered from all the monkeys on the internet, so quality [striketrhough]may[/strikethrough] will vary.

It sounds awful, what little I could find that wasn't marketing-speak :-(

Is it actually as widely used as the marketing-speak implies?

No RFCs :-(

I have found these documents:

"EtherNet/IP Adaptation of CIP Specification"

"CIP Common Specification"

"Communicating with RA Products Using EtherNet/IP Explicit Messaging" - looks helpful

Looks rather daunting particularly CIP
