i'm trying to compile some code for an ATTiny85 on a bare board, using Atmel Studio 7, with a JTAGICE3 (see pic below).

Atmel Studio seems to recognize the ATTiny85 with no problem (image below).

I read here that once i set debugger interface to debugWIRE, then some fuses of the uC will get permanently changed, and can't be changed back.

"You can access fuses right now before doing anything else, because once debugWire is enabled, you will no longer be able to do so."

Is that correct?

thx

He should have added, "until you exit debugging and dis-able debug wire mode"    No fuses are permanent!

Although once the Reset Disable fuse is set, you will have a very difficult time doing anything with out a high voltage programmer to reset the fuses!

Enter debug state in debugWIRE mode.
From the "debug" menu, select "Disable debugWIRE and close".
This clears the DWEN bit of the fuse and enables ISP mode.
