I am trying to connect a Dragon to a Mega 88 and want to use debug wire. I find no pinouts for the ISP port in the Dragon documentation. The "device connection sheets" indicate I should connect pin 2 of the ISP header to the VCC header.

Can someone confirm I just follow the color coded connections between the target, ISP header and VCC header? I would prefer to not destroy hardware because I am making the wrong assumption.

Thanks.

I assume you are doing this all on the Dragon which means you need to power the mega88 by the VCC of the Dragon . So yes that is why the VCC connection. If you are programming to a seperate board with it's own supply then hooking up the VCC to the ISP would not be a good idea .

The pinouts for ISP are silkscreened on the bottom of the Dragon .

Oops! That's what I get for reading the documentation. Powering the target from the Dragon is what fooled me.

End result: I connected the red to red, green to green... etc. and everything worked. The lack of cables made the connection a little bit difficult. A wire wrap tool came to the rescue.
