Improved Atmel_ICE USB Connector (Strength Issue)

I just bought an Atmel-ICE and out of curiosity I popped the covers to see if it had an improved connector. I don't know what the old, apparently flimsy one looked like but I'd say this must be a newer, stronger one. At least it looks to me like there are at least a couple of tabs that pass through the pcb. Anyone who knows for sure feel free to comment on this. The date on my case is April, 2016.

 

I thought I'd share this in case anyone considering buying one of these has any anxiety about the horror stories regarding connector breakages. (Added picture- JS)

Well i can share pictures from one dated to 2014.05.06(first) i believe, if it had as good solders i bet it did not need glue all around, but when looking at the ISP cable(second) i think its the first part that is going to give up since it looks really weak.

 

its +7mb per picture, so i did not add it in the post directly.(tinyjpg don't allow +5mb so i could easily compress it) (Pictures shrunk to about 300K each - JS)
