I have just built the 'original ISP LPT adapter', but can't get it to work.
avrsp says that there is "NO ISP adapter on LPT1"
How come AVR Studio does NOT have support for LPT adapters? I couldn't find an option to connect to the AVR/ISP through the LPT port!
I used the circuit on the elm-chang.org, more exactly this one, The buffered version.
The weird part is that I have double-triple-quadruple-checked the circuit, no shorts, but even if i disconnect it from the computer (no input on pins 1,4,10,13), there is a 1.3V on these pins, and a logical high on all outputs. (If i remove the IC from the board, the mysterious 1.3V disappear, so no shorts there).
I used an SN74LS126AN instead of the 74HC126 (they are said to be identical) and an A1013 instead of the A1048, one of my friends (he's an electrician), said it was O.K.
If you can help me with anything, I'd be very very very grateful!
