I had the "joy" of assembling one of the boards supplied to a colleague by PCBWAY last week, mostly 0603 parts!
The boards looked good and , so far, the one prototype I built seems to work. If all is well I will have another joy on Monday and Tuesday building a 2nd one.
0805 IS the limit for me but I didn't design the board which had to fit a particular enclosure AFAIK.
I was pleasant surprised that I still got it even with the 0603 the magnifying goggle help.
John,
At first I read that as a "magnifying Google"... obviously I have been brainwashed to think that the answer to everything is Google.
Despite that, my eyesight is excellent, but the hand tremours have become my limitation these days despite the calming medication. I can handle 0805 OK.

seemed that so many used pcbway service,by the way, anyone know the front-end language?
I am also using PCBway and I am rather pleased. They have a very fast turn around from order entry to delivery, and the price is right. I just had them quote a PCB assembly and the price was also rather attractive.
Ironic part is I sent them an email telling them to atop spamming the Freaks, and here I am singing their praises.

I just received my pcb from www.PCBway.comand I am very impressed. I usually make my own for some dirty projects but their prices (for a newbie design) are better than make 1 piece in home.
It took 12 days to come to my door with HK Post (Import duties here are ridiculous high for Courier....)
I liked the fact that they accept .pcbdoc files, because as I said I am newbie in this sport and I was sure that I will mess up gerber files.
Quality was good, some very small letters in silkscreen printed very nice. Also I loved the color, this red is so shiny!!!!
Support team Rocks!!! They were very nice and fast in explanations and helped me a lot from the file uploading to the marking the package as "used hobby"
I think that they are a very nice choice for nice and cheap pcb!
You might want to consider the leakage clearance around the relays on the next board spin. If those relays were used to switch mains, then the board might live up to it's name. Depending on what country, it might be illegal.
They wont be used for mains, I removed the ground plane because it looked more "correct" in my eyes.
I designed the board that way because some support relays may come handy if someone (or me, I am not finished with the software yet) wants to add a feature like fans, leds or something similar. For mains I am using SSR which gives me nice isolation and they are capable to drive heating elements.
Good to hear. If you use a relay like the omron g2r separates the coil and contacts better. Keeping the ground plane away from the contacts is wise. Another thing to consider is how close the relays are to each other- some relays need clearance for heat and magnetic coupling. Little things can ruin an otherwise perfect board.

I have used iTead in the past. The first time the PCBs were on my doorstep in a fortnight. This time it took them a fortnight before they even mailed it so I've started looking at other fab houses (Dirty PCBs in particular.)

There were no problems at all, the boards worked great and i didnt find any mistakes. (I've only used the company once though) They did post me a card for new years though, so they're the kind of company that will go out of their way to be friendly.

very good quality Savvas....what is your design for?
Kostas...
It took just 14 days (10 workdays) for the boards to arrive. They look very good. Job well done, PCBway

Hi Nard,
How did you cut the individual boards apart?
They look good.
Cheers,
Ross
Ross McKenzie ValuSoft Melbourne Australia
Scissors
I needed a thin PCB for a really small application so I ordered 0.8mm thin PCB.
1.6mm is hard to cut with scissors.
Sawing is the way to go then, but I am not very fond of the dust coming from it: glass fibers and FR4 epoxy
For the Arduino Mega shield, 0.8mm is a PITA, but at least now I am confident that the design is a prefect fit on the Arduino Mega.
A next order will be 1.6mm thick FR4, so with easier to handle mega proto shield.
I used Youman Young's Flowerpad idea but my implementation is not as good as his. Though it looks cute.
The boards solder well. The advantage of non-ROHS.
Cheers

Well, at least they stopped spamming.
you just had PCB's made or also assembled?
In the process of evaluating their assembly quotation against some others I have. They are looking pretty good though. Tough to beat.

I used to use itead mostly, but lately elecrow has been doing well for me. I like how they take a picture and email it to you when they ship it.
I think Fusion PCB in SeeedStudio should be in the list too. $9.9 for 10 pcs PCB boards and PCBA started from only $25. The quality is brilliant.
Seeed and Itead use the same PCB fab.

I have placed 23 orders with OSH Park, over the past 12 months.
There was one instance, where they made an error with the board fabrication, I was notified via email of this, and they sent replacement boards.
Other then that one issue, OSH park has been darn good. I like their web page portal, simple to use and gets the job done.
