The AtmelStudio does not detect the Atmega328PB Xplained board when it's plugged in.  The board powers (LED Lights) and the Device Manager shows the board successfully connected without any errors but the AtmelStudio does not detect the board and I can't seem to manually select the board as a "tool" for programming.

I've performed the following trouble shooting steps:

1) Completely uninstalled and reinstalled AtmelStudio.

2) Tried to update some of the components like Atmel Start (After upgrading the components Atmel Studio wouldn't even start)

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Actually I'm still having problems with this.  While changing the USB cord help detect the board I can not program it.  I'm getting an error when I try to program the LED example into the board:  Error

Try hitting the APPLY button & READ devices sig first...if that works, you know you are on the right track

Apply works.  Reading the voltage works.  Read devices signature returns the error.

try a different 6 pin cable or a different serial adapter...or try fiddling with these settings (this was my setting for a working stk500)
