Hi all,
I use .hex files to program my AVR. If I select intel hex as my output file format from the project settings in won't let me step throught the asm source file during simulation. Instead it will only let me step through the hex file, which is pretty useless to me. The toggle button to toggle between source and disassembly mode does nothing. If I revert to an object output format in simulates in the asm source, which is what I want.

Am I doing something wrong???

Cheers,
ozi

Yes, you are doing something wrong, you have to select ' object format for avr studio' and recompile your project in order to generate the files required to simulate the source code in studio.
Don't forget to reselect hex and recompile before you try to program your AVR mcu.

Ok. Thats what I've been doing I thought there was an easier way.
It would be good if Studio could output both.

Thanks for your reply,
