avrdude and avrispmkii on windows

Hello,

I try to use AVR-ISP MKII with avrdude on windows.

If I enter the following command:

avrdude -t -c avrispmkii -p atmega168

I get the message:

avrdude: stk500_2_ReceiveMessage(): timeout

Any idea?

I use the current winavr release with avrdude 5.1.

(Programming works fine with AVR-Studio, so the hardware is ok.)

It tries to talk across COM1: ...

You need a Win32 build of AVRDUDE that has been linked against
libusb.

I don't know of any, but you can always build it yourself
within about half an hour (including downloading the required
Msys/MinGW).
