hi,

i'm trying to get an ASF example of accessing AT45DBx DataFlash memory working.

afa the hardware setup,  i've got an stk600 mounted with atxmega128a1 cards, the dataflash pins on the stk600 wired to my port, and the example loaded in AS7.  i'm using an atmel ice for debugging using JTAG.  uploading code and debugging works fine.

no matter what i do, i can't seem to get the dataflash to init.

i'm wondering about power to the dataflash.  since the stk600 only offers pins for the dataflash's MISO, MOSI, SCK and CS pins, i'm thinking that power is always applied - but i'd like to see that in Atmel writing to be sure.

shouldn't it just be those four connections (mosi, miso, sck and cs) from the MCU's port to the dataflash?  or am i missing something?

if anyone has any ideas, i'm all ears.  tia for your time.
