Howdy !

I need a programmer for my 328 chip and i'm considering two options. First is to buy an origanal one which will cost me around 14 euro. Second is to buy a cheap chinese clone. Drawbacks for the second is that they may not work and i've read that they can have an old firmware which makes programming slow.

What would you freaks say about this delema ? Or if you have other ideas they are gladly apreciated (not sure if i spelled this on right).

Don't you just love the "I've read that ....." ?

The Chinese clones are well constucted, assembled, ... often have a 3V3 LDO regulator, and have good Chinese firmware.
l suggest that you always buy the 10-pin to 6-pin adapter.

The Chinese firmware is better than the Fischl firmware but you can always change it if you want. (Obviously this needs another programmer)

I reserve judgment on Indian USBASPs. You should always ask questions about Indian products on Indian websites.

You either pay $3 with a long wait from China or about $6 and two days from a UK vendor.

Neither choice will break the bank.
