I just installed AS7 and entering dW mode using an Atmel-ICE went easily. To return to ISP mode I believe I need to start a debug session and then select Debug>"Disable debugWIRE and Close". Unfortunately there is no entry for this under the debug menu. Did something change or do I need to install an extra plugin? Thanks!

If you have the latest version some of the button disappear in "simple"?? mode and you need to switch to "advanced"?? mode to see the rest of the buttons.
Maybe this is the case? I only have an older version of Studio on this computer so I can't check.

Wow great thanks! That was it, would of never found that on my own. If anyone else comes across the issue, you do that by navigating to Tools>Select Profile.

Apparently the upcoming version (already late to be released) will default to the advanced mode.
With so many more important bugs to solve I don't know why they waste time on adding useless new features! Just one more thing that can go wrong.
Well i wouldn't mind it as much if I wasn't able to get in dW mode. But the UI in "standard" mode allows me to enter dW mode, but not let me return to ISP mode. Not quite sure I understand why that is.

Simple! The people writing the software never use it to make a living and pay bills. 
So the more bells and whistles they add the more they get paid because the people paying them never use it to make a living and pay bills and they think WOW this must be better than the previous version, we just added another GB of code.
I better go in the corner and punish myself, I'm being bad, bad, bad. Oh wait the devil made me write that.
