I bought one of these Lantronix Xport ethernet to serial interface thingies. I plugged mine in to the network, went to my other PC and I can see it talk to it, and view the web page that Lantronix installed, by entering http://192.168.1.104 in my web browser. Up comes the default WELCOME Lantronix page at http://192.168.1.104/secure/ltx_...

So, how do I load "my" web page to it? Any help would be appreciated. I am logged in to my device, but can't see where I can upload my web page. Hope I am not missing something, for I want to interface one of these to my Mega128.

If anyone is using one, and you have uploaded a page to it, let me know how this is done. Thanks in advance!

You need to generate a .cob file which is pretty much like a java archive file. You won't find any info on the Lantronix website or in their manuals how to do this. What you need to do is contact Lantronix and ask for their "Web2cob" package which gives you everything you need. Go to support and click on 'Live Assist'. You'll get to chat to a support person in real time. I've used it a few times and its brilliant.
This could be useful too.

daveavr,

Thanks for the tip! Can I keep the .cob file that Lantronix has loaded into the device AND have my own? I do not want to blow away their stuff and have my web page on there too.

yes.

I use their WiPort - same ideas.

Spend a while reading their docs.
