Hey!

I recently bought two ATmega256RFR2-XPRO modules and i managed to create a network using Bitcloud (HADevice).

I thought using WSNMonitor might be a good idea but it just isnt working. At all.

Here is a list of things that i've done so far:

- Checked fuses (0xFE, 0x19, 0xF7)

- Checked for the correct .hex file (WSNDemo_XPRO_ATmega256RFR2_Coord.hex)

- Used different Computers (Win 7 AND Win xp) with the same result

- Java is correctly installed

- Inside WSNMonitor i used the correct Serial Port and parameters (38400, 8, 1, none, hardware)

When i try to connect, the status led on the board turns on and nothing else happens. Nothing appears inside WSNMonitor.

Any advice?

Regards

WSNMonitor only works with WSNDemo application. It will not work with HA applications.

Hi.
I bought ATmega256RFR2 Xplained Pro Evaluation Kit. From "BitCloud_MEGARF_3_3_0\Evaluation Tools\WSNDemo" I programmed to the kit  "WSNDemo_XPRO_ATmega256RFR2_Coord.hex".
Then I programmed  ATZB-256RFR2-XPRO "WSNDemo_XPRO_ATmega256RFR2_EndDev.hex".
When I connect WSN monitor, I don´t get any error message but any devices are not visible.
These parameters I setup.

BAUD RATE: 38400
PARITY: None
DATA BITS: 8
STOP BITS: 1
FLOW CONTROL: None (Hardware for the Xplained-PRO boards)

Thanks

Well, have you actually set HW flow control? What OS you are running on? Try to run WSNMonitor as an administrator.

Do Xplained Pro boards blink in any pattern?

What happens if you simply open the same COM port with a terminal program?

When I connect through WSNMonitor status LED and LED0 light.

And when I connect through WSNMonitor and then I try connect with RealTerm I got this message "Port is already open. You must change Port ie_Open - device already open".

Close WSNMonitor and open the port just in the terminal.

Ok, so the firmware is working. Now it seems like a problem in Java stuff. I don't know how to debug this.

On the other hand, what do you want form this monitor? It is pretty much useless past the first 5 minutes of playing with it.

I would like to learn programing WSN. I need to control mesh network for my project to school.

Is there any option(program) how to controling network?
WSNmonitor look like ideal program for controling.

Thank for help.

It is far from ideal. It is basically only compatible with stock WSNDemo. There is not much control you can do from there.

The real answer depends on what you actually want to do. The easiest will be to implement a UI over the serial port. It won't be as visual, of course, but it will be much more flexible.

It also may be easier to start with Lightweight Mesh if you don't need ZigBee specifically.

What ATZB modules you are talking about?

You can check communication using terminal program. See that "Ghost" among all the noise? That's a human-readable device name. You can change it in the source code. If you were to have two devices, then there is going to be two sets of messages, one from the coordinator, another one from the remote device.

As far as original question goes, you will have to mess around with Java versions, I guess.
