I cannot seem to program the AVR32 EVK1100 development board via JTAGICE3 from Atmel Studio running on my Windows 8 machine. The SW does not detect JTAGICE3 tool connected to it.

Are you aware of any issues with establishing communications Atmel Studio to JTAGICE3 to EVK1100 on Windows 8?

If yes, what steps do I need to take to make this set-up work?

Many thanks in advance!

There's been an issue of the Atmel USB drivers since the last version of Studio. Make sure you have those - they're the only ones that come close to working.

Thanks clawson! I re-installed USB Drivers from https://gallery.atmel.com/Products/Details/07bf16c1-444f-4ac8-8f40-9d4005575dca and that resolved my issue.
