Can anyone recommend a general purpose opamp with the same general specs (and price!) as the infamous LM324?

Harder than it looks. I'd just use 1 channel on a 324, but cramped for space.

The LM358 is the dual ( 8-pin ) version of the LM324

The LM324 is a quad opamp package. The LF347 is the equiblent, but with lower input offset current and FET inputs. The LF351 is a single unit package and the LF353 is a dual unit FET input package. But I think there are better devices available these days as, these opamps are products of the late 1980's

I'm not especially in love with Maxim, but the MAX4092/MAX4094
are pretty nice little dual/quad amps at about 1$ each. Low power,
low input current, fairly low offset.

Thanks for the fast replies!

I'm open to alternatives to the LM324 at the same price, but I haven't found anything close. (~$0.19/unit qty 500, even the TI 2kv ESD hardened version)

Well, the 358 has already been mentioned- should be easily under $.12
for 1000.
