After selling 1000s of boards with avrs, I have decided to try and use a bootloader for field upgrade. Gizmo has a mega644. I edited and assembled blips for a 644 and burned it and set the bootrst fuse. I used teraterm to see what port the usb serial dongle was on.... 23. I looked in blipsv4 and it listed ports up to 22. Rats. Just my bad luck. Anyone out there ever used blips on a comport higher then 22? Cant believe Steve wrote this way back. Its still as far above me as I am to the ant.

I think the solution may be to reassign the comport # to a lower one using the device manager in the windows PC. It may be necessary to clear unused ports. I think there may be a tutorial about that on the forum.

It all starts with a mental vision.

BLIPS! It's never been updated for .NET.

BLIPS tries to discover COM ports that the OS knows of.

May be that Win 7 changed how it reveals such.
