Hi Morten (from Atmel support),

Can you please tell me where I can obtain the STK500 protocol? I would very much like to implement it in some existing programming tools.

Thanks.

Hi jpk,

I'm still waiting for it myself. Rest assured that I'll post it here as soon as I get it. Incidentally, there are other discussions on this further down in the phorum.

Best regards,

I know what the STK500 is. I just bought one. May I ask. What do you mean the STK500 protocol? Is it communication between the PC and the board?

Hi,

Yes, that's what I mean. Unlike older STKs, the STK500 has an on-board programmer. What people want to know, is how to control this programmer through the 9-pin serial cable, e.g. what does the STK500 software embedded in AVR Studio do. This is a good question, and I'll give you the answer as soon as I have it. Let's see who'll make the first Linux interface :)

I'm on it.

Best regards,
