Hi Freaks,

Ive decided to bite the bullet and get into DSPs. Ive got myself a starter kit for TI's TMS3200 series (specifically the F2812), and as we all know learning a new platform can be a painful process.

Ive looked around for forums such as this for DSP's, as Ive found everyone here really helpful over the years, but I havnt been able to find much. Any ideas?

The other thing Im not sure about is JTAG, and this is more of a general question. If JTAG is a standard, does that mean that a JTAG debugger will work for all devices (AVR, DSP, FPGA, etc)? In a perfect world eh...

If anyone knows the TI devices well Id really appreciate it if youd contact me so I can pick your brain

Cheers,
Peter.

JTAG-Debugger: NO you can´t use an AVR debugger for the DSPs/FPGAs.
Every device has different internal circuitry.

Thanks for the link Jeff, Ill check it out.

I figured that would be the case re JTAG. It just means Im looking at US$490 + US$1500 worth of bits to buy to get my own target board running, which hurts.

Thanks guys.

why not look into gcc for DSP? It's a free compiler.
