I have a DAC that can go 30kHz, has 1 output only. What would it take to output in stereo at 15kHz? Would it work out output both stereo channels on the dac and use a sample and hold circuit? I was thinking 2 caps with pfets that alternate the dac output between the 2 channels. I figured someone here has done this before.

MCP4921, single channel: $2.10/qty. 1; $1.50/qty. 100
MCP4922, dual channel: $2.75/qty. 1; $2.00/qty. 100
So, for less than $1 to add the second channel and no additional switching parts, is your quest worthwhile?
I'd guess that you can get stereo audio amps also in that $2 range.
Chan did a stereo sound player with just a Tiny85:

Just feed mono to two speakers - 98% of people won't notice the difference...
