I just can't say enough about how much I really love this new forum software they've given us. I especially like the voting system and that folks with more than 10 posts don't get captchas. The color is perfect and the background is the most compelling I've seen. Also the 'ignore' feature is great since now I don't have to read certain cretins. It has a great responsive design and resizes perfectly on my cell phone. I especially like the esp function so that it now types what I meant and not what I said. Also the kill feature that allows me to actually kill a troll rather than just ignore them is really great, though I do hope that it is really anonymous since I don't want to go to jail for murder, though I'm sure it would be difficult to find a jury to convict us since most of the trolls really really need killing.

Anyway, thanks to Cleaner and the staff of Atmel Department of Web Services Department for this great new web site.

Are timestamps in UTC (Greenwich Meridian Time) ?
in local time, from the reader's point of view? (making referencing ... difficult, esp. with Australia )

Am I the only one who still hear Saxophones all over the place?

Oh, I see. You guys left me behind in the old forum and your posts are pushed back here, but my rants about not seeing the new forum never gets there. "Let him rot in his sick humor", I hear you say. Bastards...

Only in countries that have adopted the metric system as standard unit of measure.

(click Profile at the top of this page; click Post Nuke settings; adjust Time Zone Offset)

Well, if I refer to your post (I see 05:55 PM as I am in French local time ), your post "timestamp" (at least, the way you see it? : Wisconsin might be earlier-) can be different from what I see?

Yes. As I said above, you can configure a time zone offset for displayed timestamps. (You see 555pm for my post; I see 1055am as my time zone offset is set for US Central time.)

Then, it is almost impossible -very difficult, at least- to say 'the post you wrote at xx hour' and find the right post from its time ...

I see Lee's post as 16.55 BST (British Summer Time)

It you want to refer to a specific post, simply quote some of its text. I can manage the arithmetic to get to GMT (or UTC) but then I spend half of my year at GMT.

For all that I know, Lee might work in PFT (Pig Flying Time)

In the spirit of Occam's Razor I just figured Atmel had redirected massive manpower toward their SPAM initiative (Self Programming Advanced Microcontroller). As they say programming really slows product development down...

I fully agree with Joe,

btw I guess in the end they made the forum look for the new forum exactly the same as for the old forum. This is done to make sure we know our way around.....
Just to make sure we do not get spoiled and might want more improvements they also have kept the same bugs in the system. Again to make sure we feel at home on the forum.....

Also from me a big thanks to cleaner and the web development team for this great new forum.

I suppose the entire team is heading towards the horizon were the new era will be and hopefully in this lifetime they will reach the horizon......

wich reminds me of a great song from Pink Floyd, Time :

you should hear them sing it, but I copied the interesting text snipped:

Quote:
And then the one day you find
Ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run
You missed the starting gun

And you run and you run
To catch up with the sun
But it's sinking

Racing around
To come up behind you again

The sun is the same
In a relative way
But you're older

Shorter of breath
And one day closer to death

Every year is getting shorter
Never seem to find the time

Don't try that then. Instead...

If you want to refer to a specific post then right-click the small document icon for the post (just to the left of the "Posted " item. In the context menu, your browser will have an option to copy the URL (e.g. in IE: Copy Shortcut). Paste that URL where you want to refer to the post.

Well you guys are coming through great on the new forum. Did you also get a visit from the Swedish Bikini Team with the free 'massage', Pizza, and beer? Wow, that was really something. I'm too fat for the pizza and don't drink, so the girls ate the pizza and drank the beer, but then after the 'massage' they really needed it.

THANKS ATMEL!
