Has anyone had the opportunity to see an analogue realisation ( using lumped RLC ) of a comb filter?

Yes. It was working at UHF though which makes things a bit easier in some respects.

This filter needs to operate at mains frequency ( 50Hz ) so transmission delay lines are out of the picture.

Found the answer.
A combination of twin T and a transformer.
