Documentation:AVR Tools in Linux
From AVRFreaks Wiki
[edit] Native Linux Tools
For information on native Linux tools for the AVR, refer to the AVR GCC Tool Collection.
[edit] Running Windows Tools Under Linux
The AVR tools that are only available for Windows can also be run in Linux using Wine.
Before investing heavily in the truth of the above statement, it may be wise to check the Wine Application Database (AppDB). As of this writing, AVR Studio 3.56 has a rating of "gold", but all AVR Studio 4 versions up to 4.13 SP2 Build 571 have ratings of "garbage".
