I'm running 4.19 on a 1.8 Ghz windows XP box with 3.5G ram

Frequently studio goes unresponsive for several seconds, then returns to normal. This happens maybe every 30-60 seconds, so it's EXTREMELY annoying.

Studio is the only program that I run which has this issue. Even Altium Designer (a significant load on this iron) has no problems.

I'm at a loss as to how to get rid of the problem though.

Any ideas?

We use an AV program that is very light impact on the user, and it's not an option (corp machine)

Thanks for the pointer, I think we may have found the issue, a backup program that was getting buffer overflows when picking up a registry value.
