This used to be a diner just outside of Levittown Pa.

From what we saw in this weeks news re needles in the sandwiches from GateGormet, Inc., we'll be needed a cheap personal X-Ray machine.

I read about that too. I will have to check the food carefully on my upcoming flights through Schiphol.

Aviation security is mostly a joke. Ground service personnel have to pass a background check which essentially ensures that they are not currently incarcerated.

Those needles could easily have been arsenic or cyanide and just as easily consumed by the flight crew. There's no extra security applied to crew meals vs passenger food.

Bruce Schneier characterized it best when he called it "Security Theater."

My Bad on this one. I was thinking there would have been a more lighter response to an airplane that was turned into a diner.

I should have known better. Sad

The diner was just outside Levittown Pa. It is no longer there. After the diner the place was converted to a petrol station with a specialty convenience store. I don't remember what the place is now though. It's been some time.
Still, it was a cool place to get a burger.

Sorry for straying OT Jim. In Seattle there was a place called Andy's Diner that was a railway passenger car converted into a restaurant. Definitely not quite as cool as a Constellation, but still very fun to eat at for a kid.

Jim, This was Andy's Diner after they had added another railway car*. It is now an establishment called Orient Express, unless they have gone under too. I haven't been down there in a long while.

* FDR's railway car.

And here is another one of the local establishments, Beth's Cafe, 12 egg omelets are their specialty. It proves that looks can be deceiving. Pictures on the web site.

Usually, at 2:00 AM, it is shared with a friend. Wink
