I'll have to get my Mouser order in before Gabotronics does.
JC
Edit:
<OK, for those who didn't get the joke: I think it was Gabriel who bought ALL of Mouser's available stock when one of the earlier Xmegas came out...> |

Didn't see the 384kB/32kB version in the XMEGA C3 preliminary datasheet but good to know there's a plan for one.
C3 looks like an A3U minus DAC, minus JTAG, and a slower ADC; slightly less power consumption.
Revision I, no known errata - looks like it underwent a lot of spins and testing. |

That EETimes articles says that ATxmega384C3 and 384D3 are sampling now.

Still no xmega "U" version with EBI support!
Rats! Maybe next time. |

Ok, since it's on the Atmel website I can confirm these exist, at least on paper now .

Nope, just got home. Churning though the billion-odd emails I've received, from here and everywhere else .

I wonder how it will be until DigiKey has them? I am basing a project on the XMega384, and will be ready for the silicon in a month or so.
My strong advice would be to not design it in until there are samples available, unless it's not a critical project.

At this point I have a 32K SRAM hooked to an XMega256, but if this 384 becomes real, then I do not need the external SRAM.
Maybe now that the XMega is established, it will be mere weeks not years before these are available?
Dreaming?

| I wonder why it has the 'off' number of 384 KB for the flash ? |

| Maybe it has a "special" BIG chunk section of flash ? For what I couldn't guess... |

Perhaps:
a) Because silicon area costs and 512K would have priced it out of the market sector they are trying to service?
b) They had a large customer with a requirement for something over 256K so they asked them how much they thought they needed and made a chip design to deliver that (again silicon area costs)
As John cells they likely have a "cell" for a 64K or 128K memory array so they place 6 or 3 of those. |

I did that same auto-complete thing you mentioned the other day (clearly thinking two words ahead of my fingers!) |

| I'm still waiting to get hold of the 128k version... Would be an ideal upgrade to my current D3 chips. Anyone know of any UK stockists or when they are likely to be available? |

Hi Guys, sorry to revive an old thread, but I am wondering if there is any news on this chip? Its perfect for a project I want to get started on, but no one seems to have any stock, at least in the US.
Perhaps I should prototype with the next one down in hope that this will actually materialize? |

Still no stock at Digikey either. Too bad, the chip really works well in my application and I would like to make some boards available this year.

| I'm don't want to hijack this thread but can anyone confirm that A(U),B,C and D versions all have the same pin-out for each package (except for functions not available of course)? |

Digikey has XMega384 in stock now. Too bad I won't need them now until the snow flies! It's too nice out to be using a soldering iron, so I am out in the garage using a welder instead.
