Hi all,
After a lot of goggling, I came back to this forum. sometime ago I tried upgrading firmware of my NGW100 but it was not successful. Now I want to upgrade it.
After firmware upgradation, I want to deploy the newely compiled linux images(in buildroot-avr32-v3.0.0) to the board. I have the JTAGICE mkII, So i want to use it for upgrade process.
I have downloaded AVR32 Studio 2.5.0 (x86). How can I update it to the latest version Or how can I get the latest version?

Please guide me in a straight forward way for both upgrading and copying linux kernal to NGW100. Or share with me some tutorial,which will be helpful for both processes.

I have 4 GB SD also but it is not detected in my Ubuntu 9.04.
Can anybody suggest me some way for deploying newely generated images to NGW100.

Hi,
I want to try the JTAGICE mkII method for upgrading the firmware of my NGW100.
But when I executed the command avr32program erase -fcfi@0
at the terminal of Ubuntu 10.04 then I got the following error

khukhu@khursheed-desktop:~$ avr32program erase -fcfi@0
avr32program: command not found

Do I need to install avr32program?

There is not much action going on with the NGW100 right now (any more?). You do have to install avr32program.

I think it comes with AVR32 Studio and I guess AVR Studio 5.

I would do the actual reprogramming from within AVR Studio, but I hear that others prefer the prompt way.

Where is the focus then?
I am a research student and want to find the execution time of JBIG2 compression algorithm.I have successfully crossed compiled it. Now I have problems with upgrading NGW100, so that my newely cross compiled JBIG2 library run on it.I think this is possible on NGW100 but if someone is ready to help me with upgrading process.
If its not possible then
Which board do you suggest for me?

The problem is that I do not know much about Linux. And that is the reason that I have spent more than a month for executing JBIG2 Compression scheme on NGW100. But Still not successful.

I want to buy such a Linux based board which has quite active support. So that I can run JBIG2 compression on it easily.
Do you know any Linux based platform which has active support.?
I will be very thankful to you.

Upgrading Firmware is successful now
I followed the Update Das U-Boot with JTAGICE mkII method of the following link

http://www.avrfreaks.net/wiki/index.php ... re_upgrade

bangash@ubuntu:~$ sudo avr32program erase -fcfi@0
Connected to JTAGICE mkII version 6.6, 6.6 at USB.
Unlocking flash: ================================================== 100.0%
Erasing flash: done
bangash@ubuntu:~$ sudo avr32program program -F bin -vfcfi@0 uboot.bin
Connected to JTAGICE mkII version 6.6, 6.6 at USB.
Unlocking flash: ================================================== 100.0%
Programming 104284 bytes in 1 segment.
Verifying flash: ================================================== 100.0%

bangash@ubuntu:~$ sudo avr32program program -F bin -vfcfi@0 -O 0x20000 ngw_jffs2_root.img
Connected to JTAGICE mkII version 6.6, 6.6 at USB.
Unlocking flash: ================================================== 100.0%
Programming 7864320 bytes in 1 segment.
Verifying flash: ================================================== 100.0%

All the three commands were successful but still the red led light on NGW100 is not on.
WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM?
ANY SUGGESTIONS..........
