Hello,

I found several marketing documentation about the UC3C controller with CAN pheripheral.

But I couldn't find any information about the release date. In this forum, there are threads from 2008 which dealed with this issue.

Is this controller still planned? Has anybody information about the release date?

Thanks!

I would like to get my hands on the UC3C too.

There was a powerpoint presentation mentioning that they are planned for release Q3 of 2009, but that has passed and i haven't heard anything since.

I would not rely on the availability till I actually see them on digikey or mouser.

You may still want to get in touch with the local Atmel distributor or Atmel representative for more details.

I just heard back from an Atmel rep saying they are planning on rolling out the UC3C series in Q3 2010. They will also include the FPU (Floating Point Unit).

Wow, Atmel stuff from their own online store Very Happy Would have been sweet if one could buy devices (in low volume) for fair prices as well...

Interesting. Didn't know they had their own shop.

[OT: It's a weird place though: The AVR ONE! goes for $1098, which is about expected, but the JTAGICE mk II is a whopping $1147 !]

And after some inspection, I see this at the top of the pages
Quote:
This webshop is not active for customers. Orders will NOT be processed

so it seems you actually can not get your EVK1103 from there..

The parts have been around for quite a while. Many companies will go in production with those parts within the next few months.

Talk to your local Atmel representative if you need to do a design with those parts. There is allready a GCC compiler available for it. What is missing is the support for hardware floats which we should have shortly. Go to the Atmel web site and you should be able to download the compiler for either Linux or windows.

It is an automotive part so if you do not work in the automotive industry you will likely have to wait till next year.

You will need to sign an NDA if you want the datasheets. Those won't be available publicly until the official release.

I found a brochure online that mentions some specs on the UC3C, it also shows a picture of the EVK1103:

My local Atmel rep told me yesterday that the release is planned for Q1 2011, it has been delayed several times.

1 year and 3 months later and there is still no stock of the majority of the UC3C0 parts. Hurray Atmel. So ridiculous...

Yea, looks like one has to prototype with a 256kB or 512kB part, validate with smaller kB samples from Atmel, then deal with a distributor to get production quantity.
