Sounds like too much flag waving for Samsung!

Yup I've also worked on a design that uses SAM9G45:

http://www.atmel.com/devices/sam9g45.aspx?tab=overview

which involved using this dev board:

http://www.atmel.com/tools/SAM9M10-G45-EK.aspx

It's a very nice chip and board and unlike ASF the Linux kernel work from Atmel for this processor is wonderfully written stuff.

The only slight downside is that the board costs $780:

http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSea ... M10-G45-EK

Not quite in the same ~$100 "hobbyist" league of the mini2440 or micro2440-SDK.

(thinks: I've still got three of these $780 boards - must send them back!)

This would, of course, bring into question this post:

Well, last night I held a Pi in my hands so I have no reason to doubt that they do exist.
Had mine a few days. Simply amazing for something costing less than a good bottle of wine.

Running Linux, Ethernet, HDMI high res, a Web Browser, network file shares, SSH, VNC remote desktop server, and so on. Oh, embedded GPIO too. Mostly plug and play.

Would there be less attention paid had Raspberry Pi been named "M3203"

(there is such a RPi alike for sale)

Oh no. The name is at least as important as the product.

Just short of a year since the thread started. I guess the mass of all those Pi's slows time in the vicinity of the Raspberry factory?

So said a wise person the early days of my career:

"The genius is in the Marketing, not the Engineering!"

(but then too, RPi is a not-for-profit endeavor, so it is said.)

Maybe this is old news, but HERE is a clear plastic case for the Raspberry Pi, from SFE.

Guys, take the discussion of the Raspberry Pi elsewhere.
