I was googling Finchingfield(place where clawson lives, as per his profile info).. in the external refrences(of wikipedia) links i found this.

http://www.our-cottage.co.uk/default.htm

Is this man in picture the real "AVR SuperFREAK" CLIFF LAWSON.

Yep. (Other photos have been posted from time to time here, mostly with military weapons ...) [ooops--that probably violates posting guidelines]

The other photos give a sense of how young and thin I am in that very old picture!

(One day I'll fix that page - almost every link is dead now Sad)

PS As Lee says more recent pics tend to involve guns:

Since guns are ok in this thread Cliff, I thougt it is a no no in England to own guns except for a shotgun and it must be kept at a shooting club?

Here in the states I keep all mine(AR-15, Mini14, Mini30, shotguns etal) locked up in a double vault here in the house.
Much to the annoyance to the wife Wink

What's the deal in the UK?

Unless Cliff has some friends in the UK Military, my bet would be those pictures are from a trip to Las Vegas. There are billboards all over that town advertizing gun stores where you can shoot full automatic weapons at their gun ranges. I bet the ammunition cost more than the basic gun rental price Wink.

I love the combination of full-auto weaponry and the entrepreneurial spirit. Here in Tulsa we have several fine indoor and outdoor ranges, and at one of them a local Class III dealer has "machine gun shoots" on Saturdays where one can enjoy everything from the MP5 on up through the GE Minigun. My adventurous wife bought us each sessions for Valentine's Day!

I forget that not everyone's been here long enough to see the history:

In fact it's one of the reasons I try to get a trip to Vegas in each year - so I can go and take my aggression out by blasting something senseless. (in England we just drink tea for the same reason).

Hmm. AVR's, electronics and guns could be a fun combination.

I personally don't tell anyone at the range what I do for just this reason! I hear chatter all the time about if they had this or that. If they even had an idea about what I do for a living I would not get any peace and quiet when I am there.

Save the extra airfare and land at JFK in New York. I'll pick you up and we can head straight to the range near me.

As Vegas is more of a "holiday" destination from the UK than NY then air fares from here are often considerably less to LV in fact.

You could have just said 'No thank you' rather than be rude and trash my invitation on the internet. Harumpf!!
