But only the BGA package, useable stuff like TQFP still not there. In theory:

So TQFP AU series only exist in datasheets and application notes and are not available in real world!

That isn't one of the new USB devices! They still seem to be vapourware.

Why do you say that when ganzziani has them in stock?

They are NOT vaporware and will be in distributor inventory shortly.

He's only got 40 available!

I can't see anyone in their right minds going into production with them until they are available in quantity from distributors. They *are* vapourware.

Our definitions of vapourware differ. To me vapourware is something that has been announced but not made. Any company, even your favorite, has to go through a process of sampling, delivery to major clients, and shipping to distributors. The ATxmegaU parts in in that stream and will soon be available from distributors. If it was vaporware it never would have sampled, gazziani would never have seen the parts and Mouser wouldn't have the BGA parts. I'd recommend patience.

I see that mouser has them but lead time is 12 weeks and you have to buy like 395 of them.

edit....wooops I see that others noticed too. These would be a great micro to play around with.

So the big distributors will have them in stock soon? Then I must lower the price a bit. ATXMEGA32A4U

Don't listen to me. I just say things like that to muss the fur of the PIC Cat. But I do remember when folks were bitching about the lack of some AVR and suddenly there were 20,000+ at DigiKey. Didn't stop the bitching but did prove that the pipeline works.

Haha,I think his signature should come with a disclaimer: Under competitor's payroll -lol.

Seriously though, I think he lost street cred for generally being anti Atmel.

Mouser no longer shows:

Is that a bad sign?
[I'm in the unusual situation (for me) of having a PCB ready and waiting, but no chip!]

[edit: 12/11/2011]
Apparently it wasn't a bad sign: They're back in stock at mouser! Hooray!
