I'm having trouble installing AVR Studio 2.6 (Eclipse) on a Windows 7 machine. I've previously installed java runtime and the atmel toolchain. Any suggestions?

| Is your java VM up to date? Does this occur during installation or at run time? Can you give some more details on when/where it actually brakes? |

Windows 7
Service Pack 1
64 bit.
Java is up to date, v6.25
Toolchain installed.
Error happens immediately upon launching studio installer. Dialog box mentions something about "Previous installation did not complete."
I've tried re-downloading. Removing everything and trying again. Removing everything and trying again in a different order (w/o first installing toolchain). |

Uninstalled toolchain. Used Norton to clean registry. Rebooted. Re-downloaded. Installed Studio (w/o first installing toolchain). Seems to have worked this time. [Cannot find Jungo/USB stuff, but will worry about that when new JTAGICE III arrives.]
Sort of eager to see how the new Visual Studio v5 implementation compares with this old Eclipse version. |

| It's got lots of problems, it's more of an alpha release than a beta. |
