Hello freaks:
In a recent post, a usual poster here posted a link to Anadigm manufacturer (www.anadigm.com). It seems to be an interesting family of products, but I wish someone has some experience with it's products that could share.
Thanks in advance,
Guillem. |

| I used their design tools for simple academic projects, and found it pretty easy to work with and a lot of potential to simplify analog design. I think however that some of the chips are limited as to what you can fit in one of them. Never used the real device but a couple of friends did a project with the real thing with good results. |

Gracias, dguerre.
I hope in my next project (december perhaps) I can give them a try.

These things look cool. I am going to fing the local rep here in the states and pick some up.
The only thing that kinda sucks is that they are only rated to 2mhz

I'm no shure about that, but probably the speed rate can be even lower. OTOH, they seem to work for RFID systems, but they also can work down to some KHz.
My first thought was 'that would be fantastic to prototype my Ultrasonic Level Controller, a pity that I didn't know of them then', but when I read something about them, probably they also wouldn't work with gains and frequencies that I'm working (up to 80KHz and huge gains). Anyway, I should read them in more deep when I had time.
And also I thing is worth to pick some up and play with them. Anadigm + ATmega's could be a really interesting couple for some apps (at leas at my job).

Brings new meaning to the term 'digital analog'
Hey check my post in the avr forum regarding my mega162 problem. You might be able to help me out
I'll let you know what I find on these analog devices

gulliem,
I managed to find an outlet here in the states for the parts. They are not interested in the hobbyest very much, but I managed to get two parts sampled. They are very expensive($40.00us each)
I'll let u know

Guillem:
I spoke with the designers at anadigm. They are a really cool bunch. they sold me a sample package of their parts for $12.00us. The parts come in QFP pacakge only though Anyway, the development software is free and gui based drag and drop. Not bad
also is that the code is stored in a small eeprom OR is fits in the codespace of an AVR(they say the biggest code for it is a couple hundred bytes)
My only complaint is that the parts are a tad small in capacity. For anything substantial they recommend multiple parts(DUHH). For the price it is worth looking into. The evaluation kit which I recommend is $199.00us. I was horrified to see a PIC as their micro of choice!!
Oh well, we cannot all see with clear eyes. I am fooling with the parts as they may become an integral part of the audio component of my home automation system
